Does anyone else drink this?  Its a white wine fortified with honey and herbs.  Last night while shopping for port, I saw this on the shelf.  I have heard of it before, probably somewhere in a cookbook, so I decided to try it.  It was only 16.00 anyway.

Well, long story short, its ok neat (too much honey taste), but on the rocks, its really good.  I wasn't sure what to pair it up with.  Opus X have always seemd to have a pre-lit aroma of slight honey, so I grabbed a XXX with a bit of age and it went quite well together.  Not port by all means, but it worked.

I have never tried it but it does sound good....Nice pairing...I love my Opus, they are a great sticks when they smoke good...can't deny that they are definitely unique and when aged a couple years.....man!  Even though there are tons of people who are Fuente junkies...and people on both sides of the wagon, lovers and haters....I really love fuente stuff....Hemmingways, Don Carlos...among tons of others....

I'll have to go try some meade soon, is it also served hot?

Smoka, yes you can drink it hot.  It would serve well as a hot toddy on those cold, windy Chicago nights.....Oops, sorry!  No need for it anymore!!!  lol

Also neat, on the rocks, or as a dessert wine.  Do a Google search on the history of Meade, and you will find out where the term "honeymoon" came from.

    Sounds good...

I alwats liked Moscatod'asti for dessert wines, I never tried it with cigars and I always get a headache from it....

I have had a lot of meade. Good and bad. Sky meade is right up the road from us. I have also had some friends make some really great meade. You do not want to get drunk on it as you will have a nasty hang over with all that suger. I actually have not had it with a cigar as it usually seamed too sweet for that. There are different types of meade that are drier and are not so sweet. SO maybe I will try it next time I have meade.
