Kudos to CAO for producing quality products with great flavor!

CAO ITALIA IS AMONG THE “BEST CIGARS OF 2006”

Cigar Aficionado Ranks CAO Italia Among The Top 25 Cigars of 2006

Nashville, January 30, 2007:  CAO, one of the world’s foremost premium cigar manufacturers, was awarded a ‘91’ (“OUTSTANDING”) rating for its CAO Italia Novella cigar in the February issue of Cigar Aficionado magazine, widely regarded as the ultimate authority on premium cigars.

Furthermore, CAO Italia Novella made the distinguished list of “The Best Cigars of 2006,” as chosen by Cigar Aficionado.  Of the hundreds of cigars rated by both Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Insider over the previous 12 months, only 25 were selected for this distinction.  Placing 13th on the list of the year’s Top 25 cigars, CAO Italia Novella was rated higher than such legendary Cuban brands as Montecristo, Punch and Diplomaticos.  The Novella was described as “…considerably strong, heavy on the red and black peppercorns, and leather.”

Robb Report, the magazine dedicated to the luxury lifestyle, selected CAO Italia as one of the “Best of the Best” cigars of the year for 2005.  CAO Italia is available in four shapes: Novella (4 ½" x 46), Ciao (5" x 56), Gondola (6 ¼" x 54 torpedo), and Piazza (6" x 60).

Ozgener in Nashville as a labor of love 39 years ago, today CAO products can be found on every continent in the world with the exception of Antarctica.  CAO produces eight cigar lines that have all been rated ‘90’ (“OUTSTANDING”) or above by Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Insider.

I really enjoy some CAO - the criollo particularly, but the Italia?  I smoked it when it first came out and haven't looked back since

    Pappy,

I'm not sure whether your extoling CAO's virtues or not but I must agree that from the packaging standpoint CAO never disappoints. The box, presentation etc should win 2006's award for dressing up a rather lackluster stick. Of course, this is just my humble opinion. I can think of a number of smokes that I would rather have, eventhough they don't come with all the glitz and glam!

    Russian Rocket,

Yes, I WAS extolling CAO and their efforts.  I happen to enjoy many of their products even if you feel the best thing they happen to produce is their box.  Obviously more individuals not associated with this site feel that the CAO Italia is a great stick.  I would hardly describe the Italia as a lackluster cigar.  Maybe I am just biased towards CAO due to the quality of their work and the fact that I really like the taste of the Black but geez Rocket, I bet you enjoy Don Felo sticks don't you ;) just kidding!
